Transferring buses

Sometimes your journey will require more than one bus. Learn how to transfer smoothly, use your Bee Card or cash and navigate your trip with ease across Taranaki with Te Pahi.

Transfers with a Bee Card

When using a Bee Card, transfers between New Plymouth urban and school buses are automatic.

Just tag on and off each bus - no extra fare will be charged, as long as you transfer within 30 minutes.

Transfers with cash fares

When paying by cash, you will be given a paper ticket which you should hold on to for the duration of your journey. Be sure to tell the driver your final destination - not just the stop you're transferring at.

Free transfers are valid for 1 hour from purchase, with one free transfer allowed per journey. Show your ticket when you board your next bus.
