Bus service updates from Monday 17 August
We've made some improvements to Te Pahi services.
From Monday 17 August, a number of updates will be made to selected urban, school and regional bus services.
These improvements are based on customer feedback and are designed to improve reliability, make services easier to use, and provide better access to key destinations.
If you travel on one of the affected services, please check the updated timetable before you travel.
Route 3 - Lynmouth / Marfell
We've improved access to Taranaki Base Hospital.
From Monday 17 August:
- Route 3 will stop at the main entrance of Taranaki Base Hospital
- Doone Street bus stops will be reinstated
- Timetables have been updated to reflect these changes

Route 18 - Waitara Morning Loop
We've made changes to better support students travelling to Manukorihi Intermediate.
Changes include:
- Route now travels via Queen Street
- New virtual stop added on West Quay (near the bridge)

Route 20 – Waitara / Bell Block / New Plymouth
To improve access for passengers travelling to and from The Valley:
- All Route 20 services will now travel through The Valley in both directions
- Timetable times have changed to reflect the updated route

School bus updates
Several school bus services have changed and some afternoon school buses will leave a few minutes earlier.
This change helps students get home sooner, as many buses are already full and ready to depart.
The following routes have updated departure times:
- Route 24
- Route 30
- Route 32
- Route 33
- Route 34
- Route 35
- Route 45
- Route 54

Regional bus updates
Route 101 - Hāwera to New Plymouth
The morning Route 101 service has a small timetable adjustment.
- The 8:05am departure from Taranaki Base Hospital (David Street entrance) replaces the previous departure time.
- All following stop times have been adjusted.

Saturday Route 101 service
The Saturday Hāwera–New Plymouth service will now appear as Route 101S.
This makes it easier to find when planning your bus journey.
